October Birchbox 2015

October Birchbox 2015

Like a lot of people, I’ve always been quite wary of signing up for beauty boxes. On the one hand, it’s always exciting to get new things to try, but on the other, I’m always quite concerned that I’m going to end up paying about £10 a month on a load of rubbish.

After a bit of research, and 'umming and ahhing', I found that Birchbox were offering a half price voucher code, so I decided to just go for it, and I have definitely not been disappointed. I particularly loved the Benefit sample (License to Blot) that came in the September box. But, out of the two I’ve received so far, October's has definitely been my favourite.

Bioderma H20 Sensibio Make-up Remover – Full size price: £10.20 (250ml)
This little sample is the first product I’ve ever used by Bioderma, and I am definitely going to purchase a full size bottle. It removed all my eye makeup in seconds and didn’t irritate my eyes like literally every other eye make-up remover I’ve ever used. Hands down my favourite product from this box.

English Laundry No7 Signature For Her – Full size price: £60 for 50ml
This is a lovely little scent, but it’s one of those teeny tiny little samples that you can pick up from a fragrance shop for free. Nice size to pop into your handbag for a midday freshening up.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze in Daiquri (Full size product) – Full size price: £19
The packaging for this was very beautiful, but this wasn’t one of my favourites. Although it smelt wonderful, the shade and finish was just something I wouldn’t tend to wear. This is good if you’re after a more neutral look for work, or general day to day wear.

When Travelmate Sheet Mask – Full size price: £25.00 (Pack of 4)
I really hated this face mask. I'm pretty loyal to Lush for my facemasks, so I'm probably being a little biased, but this did absolutely nothing for my skin. I always thought that one of the benefits of sheet masks were that they weren't messy. I opened the pack, and this was dripping and leaking all over the freaking place. It smelled weird and chemically, and I definitely wouldn't spend £25 on 4 of these.

Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel - Full size price: £8.50
I was pleasantly surprised with this product, because I don't normally go for a rose scent, but paired with the almond oil it was pretty nice! I actually really liked the foam consistency, even though it reminded me of bathing in shaving foam. The scent itself is quite strong, and lingers for a long time, so perfect for a morning pick-me-up.

PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Smoothing Blowout Spray - Full size price: £17
I haven't used this yet, because I don't tend to blow dry my hair a lot (even though I probably should, because I look a hot mess). From what I've seen, the reviews of this are pretty mixed. It smells very summery, so I will definitely at least give it a go in the future.

You can purchase the full size version of each product on the Birchbox website. I'm definitely interested in trying the Glossybox too, but I am definitely a Birchbox convert! If you're interested too, sign up here and earn yourself 50 points towards a purchase!
