My goals for 2016

2016 Goals

Year in, year out, I always set myself the same resolution: Get my shit together. The older I get, the more I realise that everyone around me just seems to make it up as they go along anyway, so I decided to get a bit more specific for 2016.

Here are my 2016 goals:

Pay off at least one of my debts

This has been a prevailing issue for the last few years, and luckily (touch wood), I've finally started to get myself into a fairly decent position with my finances. I'm hoping this year to at least be able to pay off my catalogue account finally. Never get any credit cards or catalogue accounts when you're 18, kids!

Cook more

Not only do I struggle with my weight, I have a tendency to piss my money away. I don't really know how to cook, so I guess this is more of a 'learn how to make a meal that doesn't taste like shit and is cooked all the way through'. It's healthier for me and my wallet, and I can't raise any future kids on Iceland pizzas alone.

Be more organised

My timekeeping and organisational skills are almost non-existent. I have a pretty terrible memory, so I've already started carrying and using a diary so I don't double book myself or forget any important appointments. I lose a lot of paperwork at home, and it would definitely benefit me to implement some sort of filing system and storage for my seemingly infinite piles of junk in the bedroom.

And lastly,

Take care of myself

This is, obviously, quite an undertaking. I tend to get wrapped up in work if I'm not consumed by anxiety and stress. I don't want it to be this way forever, so I want to take the time to look after myself both physically and mentally, whether it's cooking healthier meals, setting aside time for friends and family, or taking up a new hobby. Ideally, I'd love to turn blogging into something more than a hobby, but we'll just have to see. (Upon writing this, I now realise this one is a lot more involved than I initially thought!)

And those are my 2016 goals! Have you set yourself any?
